She was a professional volleyball player who won laurels for her side- both national and international. Her best contribution to the sport was the decorated silver medal she won at the Summer Olympics, way back in 1988.

She still holds the responsibility of a promoter and coordinator of volleyball, ever since the Peruvian Ministry of Education roped her in for the post in 1981. With her as the ambassador of the sport in Peru, women’s volleyball can be expected to reach new heights. She is expected to stay in the promoting business for long after being reelected for the 2011-2016 term.

Peru is all set for a place in the World Championships 2014, scheduled to begin at Italy. The race for a spot in the big event is decided by the result of a few matches.
