Machu Picchu, the legendary ruins in Peru are known across the world for the beauty, grandeur and mystique. While there are many different ways to experience this site, the best way to do is probably by waking up early in the morning and be there by sunrise.
It also happens to be the time when there are very few travelers, allowing you to enjoy Machu Picchu all by yourself. Karikuy runs a dedicated Machu Picchu Sunrise Tour, which ensures that you get to have the best of the site, without having to roast in the Andean sun or bear the touristy crowds a little later in the day.
The tour also takes you to lesser known spots later during the day and on the next day, so that Machu Picchu isn’t the only site you visit. On this tour, you can have the cake and eat it as well. Plus, you get to have several servings of other desserts. On the first day, you reach Machu Picchu via the Sacred Valley. You stop by the town of Pisac, which is a colonial town where you can purchase souvenirs and explore the quaint streets.
Later, you will be taken to the town of Ollantaytambo, which is known for its fortress that could repel Spanish attacks against the Incas. From here, you take a train to Machu Picchu so that you arrive well in advance to hike up to Machu Picchu. You can also take a bus if you do not want to hike. With almost 8 hours at Machu Picchu, you can do whatever you want, until the bus takes you back to Cusco. Certainly, this is one of the better ways to experience this sacred site.
