The history of the Botifarra goes back to the Roman times. It is made from ancient and exotic spices. The recipe came to Peru from Italy, and what you find in the markets of Lima and other cities are in fact, a variation of what is prepared in Italy. So please be aware that in Peru botifarra can also mean a sandwich. Whenn you ask for a botifarra, you might be given a sandwich.
