You will be in Peru in no time!
Day 1
You depart at 6 am from Cusco, meanwhile you can appreciate the early morning panoramic view of the city as you make your way to Ollantaytambo. You will then contine to an altitude of 4350 meters above sea level to Abra de Málaga.

At this point your guide will decide at what time to begin your downhill run as fog may be an issue. With the all clear you begin your down hill trek on modern bicycles appreciating the immensity of the valley and the beautiful view. On the way down you can also enjoy the variety of flor and fauna as you descend through microclimates to the temperate zone down until the mid jungle zone. After lunch you will continue biking passing the Inca ruins of Wamanmarka. Finally after approximatley 5 hours of biking you'll arrive in Santa Maria (1130m) where you will lodge in a basic rustic hostel. Here you will have dinner with your group and spend the night.
Day 2
After breakfast you begin the hiking portion of the trip as you set out on an unforgetable adventure through trails of exotic plants and farms where crops such as cofee are being harvested. You will also see how they cultivate the coca leaf, a sacred plant to the Incas. You will walk through original Inca trails as your guide explains the network of Inca roads found throughout Peru. At the end of the hike you will reach the town of Santa Teresa where you can choose to relax and enjoy a dip in the thermal baths nearby (admission not included) or to explore the town. You have dinner and overnight here in a basic hostel.
Day 3
You are woken up at 7 am with breakfast shortly thereafter. You leave the camp at 8 am and continue on the trail approaching the Vilcanota river (Sacred River of the Incas) Here you will be able to test your adrenaline and taste for adventure as you make your way across the river in zip line carts. You then head towards the Aguas Calientes Hidroelectric plant, on the way you can expect to see several types of butterflies, parrots and small iguanas.

Arriving at the hidroelectric plant you will have lunch and afterwards end your trek by arriving at Aguas Calientes ( Machu Picchu town) amidst the incredible scenery surrounding you. Here you will be guided to your Hostal and your guide will let you know where the group will meet for dinner where he will give a short breifing on your big day at Machu Picchu. You have the evening free to enjoy some nightlife or explore Aguas Calientes and its thermal baths (admision not included).
Day 4
You are woken up early in the morning to visit Machu Picchu, the new wonder ot the world. You begin your trek up to the citadel at 5:10 am in order to catch an amazing sunrise over the ruins. You will have your boxed breakfasts on the way up to the mountain to avoid the lines and get there just as the gates open. The hike itself lasts about an hour and a half as you climb up 500 meters to the entrance of the ruins.

Upon entering the site you will have plenty of time to take pictures during sunrise, you are then treated to a 2 hour guided tour of the famous ruins. Afterwards you have free time to explore the ruins and even climb up Wayna Picchu, the large mountain overlooking the ruins. Your guide will have informed you of what time you need to begin going down the mountain to Aguas Calientes, where you can get some lunch and then board your vistadome train to Ollantaytambo where the tour ends. At Ollantaytambo there are several buses and taxis waiting to take you back to Cusco (fare not included).
