Omia is a district of the province of Rodríguez de Mendoza, Peru. The foundation of the District of Omia, it goes back to the second half of the XIXth century, according to documentary sources regarding the origin of the first peoples of our Province, Omia, it was founded on February 5 1875, on having disintegrated of the District of Huayabamba, together with Totora, Pink Saint and San Nicolás.
